HEART DISEASE: ORIGINS OF DISEASE - MEDICAL TEACHING IS EACH FORM OF HEALING CRISIS

Medical teaching is that each form of healing crisis is a separate disease. Further, that as such it should be fought by all available means. The very process which would help the body to regain its wholesome balances is thus obstructed. The toxic material which was ready for elimination is denied escape, and its continuing presence within the tissues has a depressing effect which is intensified by the addition of the medicaments.

With elimination prevented in this way, the system must find other ways of diminishing the danger of total collapse. The toxic matter, instead of being ejected, is deposited wherever a suitable dumping-space can be found. This may be in the bony joints, along the walls of blood-vessels or within the tissues of organs - producing respectively rheumatoid arthritis, athero-sclerosis and tumours. In the medical eye, each of these is a separate, new disease, having no possible connection with the original disorder or with the acute illness which was so successfully treated. Above all, not conceivably a result of the medication.

Sometimes it is argued, by those just beginning to grasp the nature cure idea, that a little bit of medication is desirable 'just to get the patient over the immediate difficulty'. It cannot be overstressed that this is a false argument. Any interference with the natural sequence of healing crisis activity must result in waste of vital energy, and ultimately in more severe symptoms and more serious degeneration.
