Obviously, I’m a big free-speech advocate, and I certainly believe that if NBC wants to air complete crap, it has the right to do so. What I don’t understand is how a company can continue to make such poor business decisions that offend large portions of their potential audience.
It seems that NBC, once again, has decided to air a show that is offensive to Christians. On the evening before Good Friday, NBC plans to air an episode of Will and Grace that will feature a guest appearance by Britney Spears as the host of a fictional Christian cooking show called “Cruci-fixins.”
Look, I’m not easily offended when it comes to television (slightly obsessed with Desparate Housewives, and a pretty big fan of Sex and the City too) But, as a Christian, this is something that offends even me, because it is clear that this was written into the show with the intent of offending. Even if the show was aired at another time, I might be less offended, but to air the show on the eve of Good Friday shows a complete lack of one of the left’s favorite qualities, “sensitivity.”
I’m not surprised that NBC would air this crap, but I am surpised that they would do it so soon after the Book of Daniel bomb. Do they just like throwing their money away?
